The Green Duck – Di grine katshke

A menagerie of Yiddish songs for children

Now available direct on our site. To order>>

Di Grine KatshkeThis is a wonderful collection of children's songs about animals. The songs are sung in Yiddish by Paula Teitelbaum and Lorin Sklamberg (of the Klezmatics), joined by other world-class klezmer musicians Lauren Brody, Jeff Warschauer, Adrienne Cooper, Henry Sapoznik and Frank London.

You do not need to know Yiddish to enjoy this CD! The CD comes with a 42 page booklet featuring all the lyrics in Yiddish letters, transliteration and in English translation. The booklet features beautiful papercuttings by Adam Whiteman.

Unlike other children's recordings, this is not cutesy. These are top-flight arrangements by some of the world's greatest Yiddish song interpreters. NOT JUST FOR KIDS!!!!
