Forshpayzn  Forshpayzn

…and as if there weren’t already more activities that you could possibly attend, we are pleased again to offer several forshpayzn – tasty morsels of learning in the hour before dinnerincluding everything from intimate concerts to book/CD release parties. Additional offerings and specific times will be announced at Kamp.

Slow Jam

The now-traditional slow jam will again take place during the free hour before dinner. A collection of tunes with simplified melody lines will be available for purchase at the Epes Center for those who choose to read music; a CD of source materials is also available for those who prefer to learn by ear. No enrollment is required.

KLEZMEROLA!

Join historian Bob Berkman who, in honor of his long awaited CD "Klezmerola!" will treat us to hearing long forgotten Yiddish piano rolls -- including the only known Yiddish roll by George Gershwin – all played on a player piano he will shlep along and concluding with the first player piano Yiddish singalong since Calvin Coolidge was in the White House!

Ray Musiker CD Release Yomtev

Come for a concert and release party to celebrate the release of Ray Musiker: A Living Tradition, the second in our series of CDs recorded at KlezKamp documenting our beloved senior music staff.

Bottle Dance and other Simcha Stunts – Steve Weintraub

Learn how to do the bottle dance, the kozatsky and human roulette wheel --a repertoire of fancy show-off moves sure to impress the bride and groom.

Just Say Nu! Book Party

Celebrate the release of Just Say Nu!, Michael Wex’s follow-up to his best-selling book Born to Kvetch.
