What is the Epes Center?

The Epes Center — so called because if you need epes (something) this is where you'll find it — is also the "epicenter" of the community, consisting of the registration desk, the information center and the Kamp store. Upon arrival at Kamp, attendees will first go to the Epes Center and receive their name tag and registration materials before checking in to their hotel rooms.

The Epes Center posts updated class and event schedules as well as room assignments. Any questions or problems during Kamp should be directed to the Epes Center to the KlezKamp administrative staff.

What does the Epes Center store sell?

In addition to books, recordings and t-shirts, the Epes Center offers supplies like batteries, blank cassettes and minidisks. Cash, credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) and checks are accepted as payment.

What kind of items do you accept for sale at the Epes Center?

We'll sell anything related to Yiddish culture, specifically. In other words, recordings of Hebrew folk songs, books in English about the Talmud and works of general Jewish history would not qualify, despite their obviously Jewish content, while a CD of Broadway hits from the 1940s recorded in Yiddish would.

I have items I would like to sell at the Epes Center. What should I do?

We accept items for consignment sale only from Klez Kamp staff and attendees. Living Traditions will take a 15% share of all sales. Items should be submitted after you arrive to be checked in by the store staff; specific details are generally announced at orientation. It is required you prepare in advance an exact inventory of the merchandise you leave with us.

You can check out your items any time on the last day of kamp. Payment for items sold will be made by check in January. Acceptance of items for sale is entirely at the discretion of the Epes Center staff.

I have some materials I really want to pass out to my classmates. Can I get copies made at the Epes Center?

We unfortunately do not have the facilities to meet this kind of request.
